| Why would I use bOK? : bOK allows you to make Long Distance & International Calls for very cheap local rates.
If your cell phone plan gives you unlimited incoming calls, bOK works out to your advantage very well. When you use bOK, you won't use up your cell phone minutes. This is the case because bOK allows you to turn every outgoing call into an incoming one. For more information on how this works, please continue reading the "How Does it Work" section.
If you don't have unlimited incoming calls,
that is ok. You'll just use up your minutes when using bOK but you'll
still get the same amazing rates. If you don't have unlimited incoming calls, but
you have a lot of nighttime/weekend minutes, just use bOK during those times and
take advantage of the amazing rates.
to check out bOK's rates, please visit the Rates Page. | How Does It Work? We don't require you to download software, you'll be able to use your own phone, with your current plan and phone company. Anyone with a cell phone can use bOK. Using bOK is as easy as 1, 2, 3… Step 1) All you have to do is send bOK a text message containing the phone number of the person whom you’d like to talk to. Assume that you’d like to call your friend in Ottawa. Her phone number is 613-123-4567. Start a new text message and enter your friend's phone number as the content of the message. Step 2) Now that you have completed composing your text message, send this message to bOK (613-614-0285). Hint: It's really convenient if you've stored the bOK number in your phonebook. Step 3) Your phone will ring in about 10 seconds. When you pick up the phone, you will hear the phone ringing on the other end. Once your friend picks up, you will be connected to her and can start your conversation.
Example Usage: Assume that John, located in Toronto, wants to make a call to his girlfriend, Amanda, located in Los Angeles. John has a cell phone plan with unlimited incoming calls, but only 100 daytime minutes. Long distance charges are about 30 cents a minute. John decides to avoid these fees and call Amanda using bOK instead. All he does is send a text message to bOK containing Amanda’s phone number in it. After about ten seconds, bOK calls John back with Amanda on the other line. This is an incoming call for both John and Amanda. Now, they can talk as long as they want without having to pay expensive 30 cent/minute fees. Analogy of Use: Imagine having a personal secretary sitting in front of a landline with great long distance rates. You decide to send your secretary a text message containing the number of the person whom you’d like to talk to. Your secretary will dial this number and dial your number and connect the two of you. Think of bOK as your personal secretary.
